Art: Alice Wood

I am an Ipswich based recent Photography graduate, and I work primarily with traditional processes and techniques.

I feel in this evermore digital era that people are forgetting the origins of photography and the way that photography (both digital and analogue) uses light to create an image. With this in mind I try to use light as an artists tool to paint images on to light sensitive materials and create abstract works of art, questioning why people generally believe that photography is all about the image? Whereas I feel that photography is all about the processes of making the image!

I also like to experiment with alternative processes and techniques in the darkroom, and take photography right back to the basics with pinhole cameras where I have little idea of what is going to be in the image until it is developed.
