I can’t upload a song as the file size is 2mb bigger than the allowed size…

Don’t really wanna put a lower quality version up.

ANyway this can be extended? I can’t upload anything til then.

Goood idea with all this though

Hmm, the file/size limits on the show-off are a bit tricky.  As currently they are set so we can manage the maintainence and file space of the website easily.

How long is the track, and how is it compressed?

Maybe i’ve misjudged this a little bit. What’s the average file size for your “web quality” mp3s?

i guess 5mb isn’t unreasonable…the mp3 i was trying to upload is approx 7 mb…..hi quality mp3s are approx around this size..i’d say 8 tops.

i just dont have the software on my new mac to change the quality

How long are your songs?. I am measuring on Itunes mp4 convertor at about 3.7 to 4.7mb ish for normal song lengths.

At the moment you should only be able to upload mp3 files.

Would you like to be able to also upload mp4 and aac files?

If any other musicians are reading this, giving examples of song files sizes would help me choose a good max size limit.

Well I for one would like to upload MP4/aac files as its a bit better really. Almost everybody is using Itunes or fully Itunes compatible stuff these days.

I’ve updated the song limit to 8mb (although the upload page still says 5mb max)

I’ll add support for mp4/aac in soon.

Do you know what music file type myspace supports?  I’m going to try and match their spec.

I can’t find that information anywhere though :(
