Music: Hokum
Hokum are a British Progressive Rock trio who originally formed at the beginning of 2004. After some line-up changes towards the end of 2004, the new band quickly became focused on writing new songs. Using their varied musical influences and almost contradicting and yet vastly complimentary musical styles Hokum spent most of 2005 producing a varied range of progressive rock songs. Five of these appear on their first CD Leave A Trail, which was recorded, produced and released in January 2006. Hokum have become well known for playing extremely entertaining live performances. Their frontman, bassist, Alex Body, connects with the audience in a style unusual for progressive bands. In January 2006 Hokum were signed to the American label “Domination Group”. Their first EP “Leave a Trail” was due for release in Summer 2006. After their first studio efforts have recieved praise from local music fans as well as music proffesionals (John Young, Ludes, Toboggan) This has led the band to be more focused than ever, and produce music of ever increasing complexity and interest.
