‘People Never Notice Anything’ – Album 2010
People never notice anything. However, this is an album to be noticed by all fans of alternative rock. Following on from scores of home-made EPs and albums of early demos, ‘People Never Notice Anything’ is a refreshingly produced, DIY début which pulls together some of the best of Alex Body’s extensive catalogue of songs.
The album’s songs range from the complex progressive instrumental arrangements of ‘Keep Your Head’ and ‘Conquer the Sun’ to the shameless ‘powerpop’ of the album’s horrendously catchy first single ‘Five Minutes of You’ and the live favourite ‘(Do you Do Any) Elvis?’.
The refreshing and powerful production of ‘People Never Notice Anything’ is the perfect vehicle to capture the energy, and character, of Alex’s quirky and fantastically talented band; famed for their amusing, technically brilliant and - above all – incredibly entertaining live shows.
Alex’s passion for featuring the talents of the musicians around him is distinctly evident on the album and his work ethic regarding his band is very similar to that of Frank Zappa, maintaining above all that “music is the best”!
As well as writing all of his music, the production of this album has been solely undertaken by Alex. In doing this he has created a unique sound, though still resonant of the likes of David Bowie, the progressive prowess of Rush and the renowned ‘powerpop’ sound of Cheap Trick.
As a truly different style to today’s popular music, Alex Body is setting a standard for all future musicians, and is continuing to work hard in order to further his career.
Alex will be promoting his album this summer.
His confirmed shows include Southend’s SX Festival, Music on the Green, Art on the Prom and various music venues around East Anglia and London.
