She opened the door and the Devil came in,
I ripped a star out of the evening.
Beautiful brides and blushing young men,
Your scent still sits where the trail begins.
Sending myself out off to the coast,
Let my old past and present unfold.
You be the light that I love the most,
I’ll be the dark with nothing to toast.
Saved from the clutch of the cancerous cure,
That which is love is that which is pure.
My God and my Devil, of neither I’m sure,
Convinced me that 2 and 2 never makes 4.
As constant wanderers of the world,
The quest for a love is the quest for a home.
So, regardless of where you sleep my girl,
You’ll never sleep alone.
