Vist NWES's Profile

Art Collective @ IP-City Centre, Ipswich, March 13 & 14!!

A new event to help local artists sell their work, be commissioned and get established in the creative industries!!

This spring, the IP-City Centre, which is managed by enterprise experts NWES, will play host to its first ever art exhibition.

Entitled Art Collective @ IP-City, the event will feature the eclectic and vibrant work of a number of local artists who have worked in conjunction with NWES to coordinate the event. They are Sharon Teague, Martin Walsham, Mike Chen, Carol Mayston and Steve Hails. All five artists will be exhibiting their work throughout the weekend of Saturday 13th (1.00pm to 5.00pm) and Sunday 14th March (1.00pm to 4.00pm). Exhibition goers will have the opportunity to see a range of artwork, including photography, digital design, acrylic and water colour. The event will be officially launched by Councillor Judy Terry who is responsible for Arts, Culture and Leisure at Ipswich Borough Council.  Admission and parking for the event is free.

Shona Lingham, Centre Coordinator for IP-City Centre says: “Ipswich is enjoying significant investment and regeneration at the moment, but one of the features the town needs to build upon is its arts and culture scene. The intention of this exhibition is to give artists the opportunity to establish themselves in the art community, and we hope that Art Collective @ IP-City will become a ‘must-attend event’, eventually doubling up as a guild for the artists taking part. It’s going to be a fantastic chance to see work from local artists and to really show the public the talent that resides in Suffolk and surrounding areas.”

Following the official launch weekend in March, the artwork will be displayed permanently at IP-City Centre and will be available for public viewing Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm. All artwork will be available for purchase, including a stunning portrait of Town legend Sir Bobby Robson, which will be put up for auction at the end of the exhibition.

If you would like to find out more about this event or would like to display your work, please contact Shona on 01473 432600.
