In Roman mythology, Summanus was the god of nocturnal thunder, Summanus’ temple stood at the Circus Maximus, and every June 20th cakes were offered to him as propitiation, if he did not recive any cakes he would throw a tantrum and release hell on to the people of Rome….............all for the sake of cake
