It burns when it turns to ask you,
What would I be without you?
It doesn’t tease you like me,
But she says,
No one makes me cry like you do.
The miles sting like pins in my arm,
I will keep you safe from harm.
I can laugh and pretend,
But he says,
No one makes me smile like you do.
These heartstrings tug,
To command my return.
No guilty sting,
Or jealous turn.
So banish my offences,
As I arrive to your breathing.
My one and only crime,
Was leaving.
