There are possibly a thousand ways to describe this up and coming SINGER/SONGWRITER, but only one will truly do her any justice “Breathtaking”. She is unique, only 19 years old, comes from a wonderful little town in Suffolk called Bungay, near the East Anglian Coast (UK) and she’s got one of the most incredible voices I have ever heard or indeed worked with. She’s an extraordinary songwriter, a truly gifted songstress and an unbelievably talented harmonica player.Describing her sound can be somewhat difficult to nail considering the haunting over-tones, but you can be sure her sound lies somewhere between acoustic, alternative and most definitely indie. This girl is quite unique!! Her influences range from anything between Stevie Wonder to Eva Cassidy and even has elements of an early Kirsty McColl, yet the more I play her songs to others the more I keep hearing a Joni Mitchell tone. Her career as a working musician started on the 3rd January 2008 and since then she’s played live on a weekly basis at Casa Mia Music Bar (Open Mic Sessions and Requested Headliner on the odd Saturday Night) in Suffolk. She’s also played The Fisher Theatre Bungay, The Arts Centre Norwich, The Angel Inn Wangford, and The Steam Tavern in Ipswich (to name but a few). Then in May 2008 she won the Battle of the Bandstands competition (produced by Rob De Bank in Liverpool) and opened up the show in front of 2000 people for Mark Ronson! This budding mega star is professional, hard working, and a natural born entertainer - ladies and gentlemen please be upstanding for the remarkably unique Lisa Ambrose!
